Studying the Trail

The Liberty Bell Trail is currently in the planning stage.  A feasibility study was prepared, some portions of the old trolley bed have already been converted into a trail.  For example, Hatfield Borough in Montgomery County has developed much of the trail through its municipality.  Perkasie Borough in Bucks County has also developed part of the trail through one of its municipal parks, Lenape Park.  

The feasibility study concluded that the Liberty Bell Trail can be developed, and the next step in the planning process would be to have a professional engineer prepare development plans, and then the trail would be constructed based upon those plans and designs.

The trail would follow as much as possible what was the alignment of the Liberty Bell Route, an historic trolley line.
