Montgomery County hosted a dynamic Transportation Funding Forum on October 3, 2008 at Presidential Caterers in East Norriton to discuss how transportation improvements can advance despite inadequate state and federal funding. The forum, which was attended by approximately 270 people, focused on how this funding issue will affect Montgomery County’s effort to manage congestion, economic development, competitiveness, and quality of life. Participants included representatives from municipalities, the business community, institutions, school districts, and various public agencies. The event featured speakers from both the public and private sectors who represented their perspective on the issue. Participants took part in roundtable discussions to talk about potential solutions, shared comments, and were able to voice their opinion on a feedback form. The links below include the forum agenda, the event briefing and its corresponding Roadway Functional Classification Map, speakers bios, forum PowerPoint presentations, and the feedback form. To contribute your input on possible solutions, please print and complete the Transportation Program Feedback Form and send it to us or complete the form online.
