Environmental Planning
The environmental planning section focuses on protecting the county’s environment.  The environmental planning staff typically works with municipalities in developing and revising sewage facilities plans, updating the county municipal waste management plan, and preparing storm water management plans for designated watersheds in the county.  This section also maintains environmental and infrastructure inventories to aid municipal land use decisions.  In addition, our planners coordinate with federal and state agencies and the county health department to address critical water resource and environmental contamination issues in the county.  Click here for major environmental planning projects.
