Design Planning
Our design section promotes well-planned subdivisions and land developments through plan reviews, education, model ordinances, and an awards program.  This section coordinates land developments, subdivisions, municipal ordinance amendments, and other actions taken under the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) by working with other planners to prepare review letters for municipalities.   The landscape architects in this section prepare various educational materials to help municipal officials understand important land development design issues and trends.  Each year, the design section manages our Land Development Awards (LDA) program, which recognizes good design throughout the county.  Our design planning staff also assists in preparing model ordinances.   Click here for major design planning projects.
