Equestrian Campground Rules and Regulations

1. The camping area will be designated only for equestrians. Any other exceptions require Superintendents approval.

2. There is a fee of $7.00 per night per site for Montgomery County residents and a fee of $15.00 per night per site for non-residents of Montgomery County. Cash only.

3. Camping season begins on April 1 and ends on October 31. Camping is limited to14 days per year. However, from April 1 to Memorial Day and Labor Day to October 31, an additional seven (7) days are permitted.

4. Registrations are made at the park office. If the park office is closed, read posted instructions. Payment can be made by the honor system envelope located at the campground entrance, but please check site first and check the Reservation Due-In List posted in Kiosk to verify the site is not reserved. (No reservations are accepted by envelope system.)

5. Reservations can be made at the park office or by telephone during hours of operation. Full payment (cash only) is due when making reservation in person at the office. Phone reservations are required to be 10 days in advance of reservation date and payment (cash or postal money orders only) are due within 7 days of the date the reservation was made.

6. No refunds, no credits (inclement weather included) and no changes or exchanging dates to reservations/registrations once they have been made. There are no refunds for campers who vacate their site prior to the time they have reserved and paid for.

7. Check out time is 3:00 p.m. on the day of departure.

8. There are modern restroom facilities and showers in the Deep Creek camp area. Equestrian campers are welcome to drive or walk to this facility.

9. Fires are permitted only in fireplaces provided for that purpose. Campers must provide their own wood. Campers are responsible for emptying their trash daily.

10. Each site is allowed two vehicles and a trailer. A tow vehicle, one other vehicle and a trailer.

11. Campers are responsible for cleanliness of the site. They will clean up their own horse droppings and also their trash.

12. Tie posts or hitching posts will be provided at each site. Therefore, tying horses to trees is prohibited.

13. Dogs will be allowed in the campground. However, dogs must be leashed or under voice control of the owner or other responsible person at all times.

14. Watering of horses at the well is not allowed. Water must be bucketed to the sites or to the hitching post area near the well. This will enable everyone to have access without backup and also help to prevent the development of a wet, muddy area at the water source.

15. No person is permitted to consume, sell, distribute, or transport alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs on park property. These policies have been developed as a joint effort between Green Lane Park staff and the equine council.
