Parsing Federal Stimulus Dollars for Highways
NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County roadways will receive improvements totaling $68.5 million from federal stimulus highway and bridge funding targeted to Pennsylvania.
That was the determination Thursday when the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) voted on what projects to fund with $257.75 million in federal stimulus money allotted to highway and bridge improvements in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Southeastern Pennsylvania’s allocation includes $191,757,000 million that was allocated directly to DVRPC and $66 million that went to PennDOT specifically for improvements to interstate highways.
Overall, Pennsylvania received just over $1 billion for highways and bridges from the stimulus package.
The amount allotted to improve roadways in Montgomery County is 26.6 percent of Southeastern Pennsylvania's portion of the funding.
Below is a listing of those projects.
