Our Mission
Human Service Systems Improvement is an approach to strengthening and empowering Montgomery County communities so that they can foster the strength of families, including their children, youth, adult, and aging members. It puts families first and involves whole communities. The process builds upon prior initiatives and achievement, and it does not compete, but rather cooperates.
Public and private agencies are establishing innovative partnerships to facilitate collaboration and to improve capabilities to become more proactive, responsive and family focused. Collaboration translates to improved capability to meet the complex and diverse needs of all Montgomery County residents. Collaborative may also translate into cost effectiveness and increased ability to integrate funding from diverse sources.
The Collaborative Effort brings together people with diverse interests, but a common vision...to improve the results of individuals and families at accessing services at the community level to improve family quality of life and satisfaction, while seeking to effect positive change within public human services systems and the people they serve.
In 2000, a small group of social service agencies, both public and private, began meeting to develop a more responsive approach to the delivery of human services. The result is the Collaborative structure. That continues to endure and improve.
