PUBLIC WORKSHOP SCHEDULED
FOR RIDGE PIKE RECONSTRUCTION
NORRISTOWN — Residents and area business owners are invited to attend a Public Workshop to give their input on Phase II of the Ridge Pike Reconstruction Project.
The Public Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Montgomery County Human Services Center, 1430 DeKalb Street, Norristown.
Phase II of the project involves the reconstruction and widening of 2.7 miles of Ridge Pike from the Norristown municipal line to 500 feet beyond the intersection with Butler Pike in Plymouth and Whitemarsh townships.
Improvements called for during the reconstruction include widening for a center turn lane, the simultaneous replacement of three bridges, repair and replacements of existing drainage facilities and the relocation of overhead utilities. There will also be upgrades to six existing traffic signals and two existing bridges.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2009. This is just a portion of a proposed reconstruction of Ridge Pike in its entirety between the borders of Norristown and Philadelphia.
