Montgomery County Commissioners Present Grant To
Elmwood Park Zoo
NORRISTOWN – The Montgomery County Commissioners recently presented a $110,000 grant to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

The Commissioners’ grant will be used to fund general operations at the zoo, one of the finest cultural amenities in central Montgomery County.
“Elmwood Park Zoo is a great family-oriented attraction and Norristown is fortunate to have it,” Montgomery County Commissioners’ Chairman Thomas Jay Ellis said.
“We’re working hard to help Norristown recapture its former glory and the Elmwood Park Zoo is an important part of that,” he said.
Founded in 1924, the 16-acre Elmwood Park Zoo has grown continually over the years. It now attracts 130,000 visitors annually and exhibits 300 animals from 90 species.
