MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT GRANT TO WOMEN’S CENTER OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY

ELKINS PARK — The Montgomery County Commissioners recently presented a $15,000 grant to the Women’s Center of Montgomery County.
The Women’s Center is a volunteer-based community organization dedicated to eliminating domestic violence and other forms of abuse.
The Commissioners grant will be used to fund the 24-hour domestic violence hotline, said Maria Macaluso, Executive Director of the Women’s Center of Montgomery County.
In addition to the hotline, The Women’s Center provides individualized, peer and group domestic violence counseling; telephone counseling; legal advocacy; court and hospital accompaniment; education and outreach to the community and schools; and various support groups.
“We’re pleased to do what we can to help this important organization that serves women from all across Montgomery County,” Commissioners Chairman Thomas Jay Ellis said.
The Women’s Center has more than 200 trained volunteers and a paid staff of 12 full and part-time employees in our five offices located in Jenkintown, Norristown, Lansdale, Pottstown and Bryn Mawr.
