EXPANSION OPENING AND DEDICATION SET
NORRISTOWN — The Montgomery County Commissioners and President Judge S. Gerald Corso will officially open the new 12-bed expansion of the Secure Detention Program at the Montgomery County Center at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 20th.
They will also unveil a brass plaque, paid for by private donations, dedicating the new expansion to Anthony A. Guarna, former Chief Juvenile Probation Officer and Chairperson of the Youth Center Board. He passed away in 2003.
This brings the number of beds in Secure Detention to 36 beds and is in response to years of overcrowding at the Detention Center.
Those who attend will include Police Chiefs, Judges, Probation Officers and others who worked with Tony in the Juvenile Justice System. The Guarna family will also be present.
Tours and light refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the ceremony.
