INTERNS GAIN PLANNING EXPERIENCE
The Montgomery County Commissioners are pleased to announce that six exceptional interns are participating in the county Planning Commission's summer intern program.
"The Planning Commission benefits from the enthusiasm and fresh perspective the interns bring. The interns gain valuable experience that helps them focus on their goals for the future," said Kathy Ember, intern program for the Planning Commission.
Patrick Bello of Blue Bell is attending Pennsylvania State University. He is pursing a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and is expected to graduate in 2006. Bello would like to own a small design firm in the future.
Edward (Jim) Farrow of Lansdale is attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is seeking a bachelor’s degree in regional planning/G.I.S. After Farrow’s graduation in fall 2004, he plans to either pursue a master’s degree or find employment in Pennsylvania.
Paul Gordon is pursing a master’s degree in community and regional planning from Temple University. Gordon, who resides in Glenside, is expected to receive his degree in May 2005. His career objectives are assisting in the revitalization of older communities and the development of programs designed to encourage more mixed-use development in growing areas.
Michael Longenbach is pursuing a master’s degree in community and regional planning from Temple University. Longenbach resides in Coplay, Pennsylvania. He will seek a position as an environmental planner after his December 2004 graduation.
Sarah Ross of Fairfax, Virginia, is seeking a bachelor’s degree in growth and structure of cities from Bryn Mawr College. After graduation in May 2005, she hopes to work in urban design at an international level.
Drew Sharkey of Glenside is pursuing a J.D. degree from Widener University School of Law. He is expected to receive the degree in 2007. Sharkey’s career goal is to be an attorney in the public sector.
