ROYERSFORD — A newly released national rating system for nursing homes has awarded its highest ranking to Parkhouse Providence Pointe, which is owned and operated by Montgomery County.
Parkhouse received five stars out of five from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in a Zagat-like rating system it unveiled last week.
Parkhouse Providence Pointe, formerly known as the Montgomery County Geriatric and Rehabilitation Center, is a 470-bed nursing facility dedicated to providing the highest level of individualized health care to its residents.
The scores in the rating system are based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures, including how well a nursing home responds to residents' declining mobility, high-risk bed sores and other health concerns.
