JEFFERSONVILLE — The Montgomery County Offices of Mental and Behavioral Health are proud to announce that the 31st Annual Mental Health Luncheon will be held Wednesday, May 21 at Westover Country Club. The event will focus on the hope of recovery and resiliency for children, individuals, families and systems.

The keynote address for the luncheon, “Hope: The Journey Continues” will be given by Gina Calhoun and an awards ceremony featuring 18 recipients from across Montgomery County will follow.  Gina Calhoun has lived the experience of mental illness and was institutionalized in mental health facilities for over 17 years.  Her first career opportunity was in 2005 when she offered peer support to people transitioning from Harrisburg State Hospital to the community and today she is Certified Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Trainer for the State Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.   

There will also be two morning workshops. One is entitled "Resiliency in Times of Transition”, and will be a panel presentation given by individuals that receive services.  The other workshop, "Organizational WRAP:  Developing a Recovery-Focused Organization” will be presented by Gina Calhoun.
