Public Meetings Scheduled on County's Draft Climate Change Action Plan
Montgomery County’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Task Force has developed a draft “Climate Change Action Plan” for Montgomery County and will be hosting several public meetings to present the draft plan and solicit public comments.
The draft Plan is intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase energy efficiency and energy independence, promote recycling, encourage walking and bicycling and educate the public about what it can do.
The draft Plan, the first of its kind in suburban Philadelphia, has over 70 specific actions for residents, businesses, commuters, utilities, homeowners and renters, developers, municipal officials and County operations. For additional information, please visit:

The public meetings all begin at 7:30 and will end at 9:00PM. The dates and locations are:
September 24: Upper Merion Township Building
Freedom Hall, 175 West Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406
September 25: Montgomery County Community College
Pottstown Campus- West Community Room 126, 101 College Drive, Pottstown, PA 19464
October 3: Upper Dublin Township Municipal Complex
Main Meeting Room, 801 Loch Alsh Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034
Undertaking these actions will also result in more open space preserved and less traffic, and will also provide business opportunities for companies that specialize in energy conservation, alternative energy sources and others.
