Montgomery County is announcing that the Schuylkill River Trail in Plymouth Township will be affected by construction activities beginning in September.

A new railroad line will be installed adjacent to the Trail between Conshohocken and Norristown, which may require short-term Trail closures.

The work will extend into the winter, weather permitting.  Flagmen will stop traffic on the Schuylkill River Trail during times when heavy equipment or grading activities might compromise the safety of Trail users.

Signs will be placed on the trail to warn uses of possible closures.

A temporary trail will be constructed and available for use during most of the construction time.   When construction is completed, the old trail will be repaved and trail users should see little difference from its present, pre-construction look.
