DOUGLASS TWP. — Swamp Creek Road will be closed for the next six months while a contractor replaces the bridge.
A detour will be posted.
The bridge was originally built in 1916. The new bridge will be two spans of pre-stressed concrete.
DESCCO Design and Construction, Inc. of Fleetwood, Pa. will perform the work at a cost of $1,004,373.66. The state is paying for 80 percent of the costs and Montgomery County is paying the remaining 20 percent.
The anticipated completion date is Dec. 28, 2007.
