CONSHOHOCKEN — The Montgomery County Commissioners are pleased to announce the opening of a segment of the Cross-County Trail, which extends the County’s network of trails an additional three miles into the heart of where it is most heavily populated.
The public is invited to attend the dedication ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 on the trail at the intersection of West Elm Street and Colwell Lane in Conshohocken.
This three-mile segment extends from Conshohocken to Plymouth and passes along the Metroplex Shopping Center, Market Place at Plymouth and numerous office parks and residential neighborhoods.
There are plans for a total of 165 miles of recreational trail that will crisscross the County, and bring a regional trail to within five miles of every County resident.
The Cross-County Trail will eventually be 24 miles long and extend beyond Plymouth Meeting to Fort Washington and the Willow Grove area in Upper Moreland Township.
