2006 Montgomery County Caregiver of the Year Awards
NORRISTOWN – On November 18, 2007, over a hundred persons gathered to celebrate Caregivers Month during a day-long “Salute to Caregivers”, held at the Human Services Center in Norristown. During the day, caregivers were treated to some pampering and humor therapy, tips for reducing stress and taking care of themselves, lunch and entertainment from the RSVP clowns and the Cole Manor Elementary School chorus. The day ended with a ceremony to honor outstanding caregivers in several categories, and to award prizes to those caregivers chosen as special examples of caring and compassion within their various areas of expertise.
The award winners are as follows:

3. Sharif Johnson, Parkhouse in Royersford, PA
2006 Caregiver Award for Institutional Caregiving
4. John Lawson , Hatfield, PA
2006 Caregiver Award for Family Caregiving
5. Thomas Oscar Wise, Ambler, PA
2006 Caregiver Award for Grandparenting
6. Peggy Monaghan, Royersford, PA
2006 Caregiver Award for Caring for Disabled Adults
Honorable Mention went to ImJa Choi (Blue Bell, PA), for her efforts to extend caregiving within the Asian community.
