NORRISTOWN WEED AND SEED ANNOUNCES ANNUAL
BEST BEAUTIFUL BLOCK CONTEST
NORRISTOWN — Norristown residents are invited can take part in the annual revitalization program, sponsored by the Norristown Weed and Seed Initiative, to help area residents showcase and enhance their properties.
“This year, we are supplementing this contest with “Q&A Gardening Clinics” through a partnership with our Block Captains, TALL Team leadership and the Master Gardeners Program of the Pennsylvania State Extension Service”, said Sylvia Vega-Ortiz, the project coordinator.
“We know there are endless creative possibilities which can help enhance any property,” she said.
The three winning blocks will be distinguished by hanging banners proclaiming their BEAUTIFUL BEST BLOCK status beginning in August, and will receive food vouchers towards a block party to be held Saturday August 26. In addition, there will be special recognition during Norristown Weed and Seed’s Annual Community Meeting on Monday August 28 at the George Washington Carver Community Center.
