DEDICATION FOR MEMORIAL TO FRANK JENKINS SET
NORRISTOWN — The Montgomery County Commissioners are pleased to announce the official dedication of the Frank W. Jenkins Memorial plaque at 1 p.m. on April 11.
Jenkins, who passed away last year, was a longtime resident of Oreland who served as a state Representative from 1964 to 1966 and then for 13 years as a County Commissioner.
In 1984, Jenkins ran the first successful countywide race as a write-in candidate for Sheriff. He also served on Amtrak’s board from 1984 to 1988 and as the County’s representative on the SEPTA board from 1977 to 1991.
The dedication ceremony will take place in the elevator lobby near the Sheriff’s offices on the first floor of the Court House.
The program will include remarks by a number of speakers, including:
Commissioners Chairman Thomas Jay Ellis, Esq., Commissioner James R. Matthews and Sherry Horowitz, chair of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Authority.
