POSITION: Secure Detention Counselor
DEPARTMENT: Youth Center 540 Port Indian Road Jeffersonville, PA 19403
SALARY: $39,530 – 43,483, depending on relevant experience
This position is in the Secure Detention Division working with alleged
delinquents between the ages of 10-18. While in residence, youths are
provided with a full range of services: educational, recreational,
health care, counseling, psychological and psychiatric testing (when
applicable).
REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's degree, preferably in social sciences; and one [1] year of
relevant experience. Will interview graduates in psychology, sociology,
recreation, criminal justice, liberal arts. • Driver's license or reliable means of transportation. • No record of criminal convictions or history of child abuse. • Must be available to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends. • Must be capable of physically restraining young adolescents during
crisis situations. • Must have excellent inter-personal, oral and written communication
skills. • Must obtain a physical examination report from a licensed physician
prior to employment.
