POSITION:Auto Technician
DEPARTMENT:Fleet Management
SALARY:$38,700 – 42,342, depending on relevant experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain County Transportation Fleet in good running condition and perform annual State Inspections.Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain parts inventory
Diagnose mechanical problems
Maintain vehicle repair files
Perform State Inspections
Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance of vehicles
Inventory, maintenance and disposal of all hazardous waste
Demonstrate safe work practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalency
Class 3 State Inspection License, required
CDL Class “A”. required
Must have appropriate tools and diagnostic scanner
Must possess a Certificate to purchase and utilize 134 refrigerant
Must be computer literate in order to maintain/monitor parts inventory and track costs by vehicle and department
Must have technical automotive expertise
Experience working with an above-floor lift
Must have good inter-personal, oral and written communication skills
Must be accurate and detail-oriented and have excellent record keeping skills
Must be able to stand, bend and kneel an to life 50 lbs
