POSITION:        Dockworker/Maintenance

DEPARTMENT:  Parks & Heritage Services (Green Lane Park)

SALARY:            $11.01, per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to work productively and independently at assigned tasks, such as:

·         Provide assistance to boaters giving operating and safety instructions.

·         Maintain boating and safety equipment.

·         Communicate well with and assist visitors and park users.

·         Assist boat passengers in and out of boats.

·         Pick up litter.

·         Other assigned duties, such as light maintenance, as required.

·         Will be required to work in all weather conditions.

·         Work weekends, holidays and evenings as required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

·         Read, write and understand directions

·         Competent writing and spelling skills

·         Able to use hand tools, landscape equipment and mowers.

·         Able to operate pick-up and dump trucks.

·         Able to lift up-to 50 pounds, on occasion.

·         Certification in C.P.R. and First Aid; knowledge of bloodborne pathogens.

·         Knowledge of boating/fishing laws

·         Valid driver's license

·         High School diploma or GED

·         Radio Communications

·         Dependable and punctual
