POSITION:        Park Ranger (Part Time)

DEPARTMENT:  Parks & Heritage Services

SALARY:            $11.60, per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to work productively and independently at assigned tasks, such as:

·         Enforce park rules and regulations

·         Vehicle and foot patrol of facilities

·         Communicate well with and assist visitors and park users

·         Interpret programs and activities to visitors and park users

·         Work weekends, holidays and evenings, as required

·         Fill in when emergencies occur or when rangers are sick or on vacation

·         Pick up litter, light maintenance and other duties, as assigned

·         Openings are currently available at Norristown Farm Park

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION:

·         Read, write and understand directions

·         Competent writing and spelling skills

·         Be persuasive, yet understanding

·         Valid driver's license

·         High School Diploma or GED; college coursework preferred

·         Security and/or interpretive experience preferred

·         Radio communications

·         Must be willing to undertake required professional development training

·         Knowledge of County and State Parks, State Fish and Game Commission
  workings, rules and regulations, legal procedures.

·         Will be required to be certified in CPR and First Aid

·         No record of criminal convictions
