Investigation Ongoing in Fatal Crash that Claimed the Lives of Two Teenage Girls on Saturday, December 12, 2009
 
 
District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Upper Pottsgrove Police Chief William Moffett announce their agencies are conducting an investigation into a fatal crash on Saturday, December 12, 2009 that claimed the lives of two teenage girls. 
 
Shortly before midnight on December 12, 2009, Officer Jason Zoski of the Upper Pottsgrove Township Police Department responded to Route 100 between Farmington Road and Moyer Road for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.  Upon arrival, Officer Zoski found that a one-vehicle traffic crash had taken place in the northbound direction of Route 100.  Officer Zoski observed a red 2003 Dodge Durango displaying Pennsylvania registration DZH-5762 overturned on its roof and on top of the guardrail with several occupants trapped inside.  Officer Zoski also observed that three occupants of the vehicle had been ejected. Officer Zoski found the operator was trapped within the vehicle.
 
Route 100 in the area of the crash is a four-lane divided roadway. There are two lanes of travel for northbound traffic and two lanes of travel for southbound traffic.  A raised concrete divider divides the northbound and southbound lanes of travel. The roadway is properly marked with surface lane markings, which also include recessed roadway reflectors indicating the curb lane of travel from the passing lane of travel.  Route 100 has a posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour.  The weather conditions at the time of the crash were clear, dry, and it was nighttime. The roadway was dry and clear of any visible defects.  The location of the crash is within Upper Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
 
Responding officers identified six occupants from the vehicle. These include:
1. Driver (male, DOB 9/18/1991);
2. Front passenger (female DOB 9/25/92);
3. Rear passenger (female DOB 6/4/92);
4. Andrea Antonio-Harris, D.O.B. 12-7-1993 Rear passenger – Deceased;
5. Breanna Brothers, D.O.B. 7-24-1994 Rear passenger – Deceased;
6. Rear passenger (female DOB 2/21/1997).
 
The teenagers were students at Pottsgrove High School, Pottstown High School, and Boyertown Junior High West. 
    
On Sunday, December 13, 2009, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Erica Williams conducted the autopsy of Andrea Antonio-Harris at the Montgomery County Morgue. Dr. Williams determined the cause of death to be head injuries resulting from the crash.
 
On Sunday, December 13, 2009, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Erica Williams conducted the autopsy of Breanna Brothers at the Montgomery County Morgue. Dr. Williams determined the cause of death to be torso-extremity injuries resulting from the crash.
