Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Norristown Police Chief Russell Bono announce the arrest of Wesley Herb Calmese and Richard Engram for the murder of Carter Duncan. Calmese is charge with First, Second and Third Degree Murder. Engram is charged with Second and Third Degree Murder.

On Friday June 12, 2009 at approximately 1:45 AM, Norristown Police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of George Street. The Police found the victim, Carter Duncan, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Montgomery Hospital, the victim succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at 2:08 AM.
 
The Norristown Borough Police Department and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau commenced a joint investigation into the homicide.   Investigation revealed Calmese and Engram intended to rob the victim, who was known to sell marijuana.  Engram drove the victim to the 700 block of George Street where Calmese was armed and lying in wait.  When the victim exited the car, Calmese emerged from behind a parked van.  After a brief struggle, Calmese shot the victim multiple times.
 
Engram was arrested on Thursday, July 30, 2009.  A preliminary hearing for Engram is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Francis Lawrence on Monday, August 24, 2009, 12:00 PM at 200 West Main Street in Norristown.
 
A warrant was issued for Calmese on July 31, 2009.  On Thursday, August 20, 2009, Philadelphia Police Officers Joseph Goodwin and Jason Seigafuse saw the defendant in a park.  A foot chase ensued and Calmese was taken into custody a short while later.  Montgomery County Detectives picked up the defendant and he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge, James Gallagher.  A preliminary hearing for Calmese is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Francis Lawrence on Monday, August 31, 2009, 10:00 AM at 200 West Main Street, Norristown.
