ABOUT THE CHIEF COUNTY DETECTIVE

Edmund H. Justice, Chief County Detective, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

On January 23, 2012, Edmund H. Justice was appointed to the position of Chief County Detective by District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Chief Edmund H. Justice had been employed by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Detective Bureau from December 1986 until his retirement in January 2006.  During the last six years of his tenure with the office, he held the position of Deputy Chief County Detective.  As Deputy Chief he worked closely with then First Assistant District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman, and local, state, and federal agencies, in the investigation of murder, homicide by motor vehicle, and other criminal offenses committed in Montgomery County.
 
Prior to his employment with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Detective Bureau, he was employed by the Hatfield Township Police Department in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania from 1973-1985. During his tenure there, he held the positions of Patrol Officer, Detective, and Detective Sergeant.
 
Prior to his employment with the Hatfield Township Police Department, he was employed by the Horsham Township Police Department, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania from 1971-1973.  During his tenure, he held the position of Patrol Officer.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice served in the United States Navy.  He received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in 1970.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice graduated from Montgomery County community College and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice graduated from Trenton State College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice graduated from West Chester University and received a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice graduated from the Polygraph Personnel Research School and the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice Polygraph Examiner Training.  He has conducted in excess of two thousand polygraph examinations.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice served as a member of the Montgomery County Correctional Facility Prison Board from 2009-2010.
 
Chief Edmund H. Justice is a member of the Montgomery County Community College Curriculum Advisory Board.
