The Montgomery County School Safety Committee (“Committee”) represents the merger of the District Attorney’s Office School Safety Committee and the Department of Public Safety Committee.  Members of this Committee are comprised of representatives from all facets of school entities, the Department of Public Safety, law enforcement and emergency response personnel. The Committee will function as the central point of information throughout the County for all schools for response tactics, safety issues, regulatory/compliance requirements, planning concerns and crisis situations.  The Committee will incorporate the policies of the Countywide Law Enforcement Alerting and Safety System (“C.L.A.S.S.”) and provide a Comprehensive All Hazards Emergency Operations Plan for reference purposes.  In coordinating efforts with federal, state and county agencies, the Committee will provide ongoing educational assistance, assessment of operating procedures and act as a resource for all matters concerning school safety.
