The District Attorney’s Office is committed to keeping Montgomery County safe and secure. We accomplish our mission, in part, by holding individuals responsible for their behavior after they have committed a crime. We also dedicate significant time and resources to creating programs that provide our citizens with the tools they need to prevent crime from occurring in the first place.
The District Attorney supports various initiatives designed to prevent all types of criminal conduct. Successful crime prevention programs such as our bad check restitution program, elder abuse task force and safety school committee work to improve public safety while reducing the enormous financial burden that criminal cases place upon the police, courts, and entire criminal justice system.
