"District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman has written "The Mouse Who Went Surfing Alone," a cautionary tale for pre-K and first grade children about the dangers lurking on the internet." Sales of the book will benefit Mission Kids, the non-profit child advocacy group that District Attorney Ferman helped create. To purchase copies, contact Mission Kids.
On October 6, 2011, District Attorney Ferman along with Montgomery County Sheriff Eileen Behr, Mission Kids Executive Director Amy Charles and Dan Reavy, Director of External Affairs for Verizon, brought "The Mouse Who Went Surfing Alone" to three different elementary schools in Montgomery County: Walton Farm Elementary in Lansdale, Goddard Elementary in Horsham, and Cole Manor Elementary in Norristown.
District Attorney Ferman read her book to students in Kindergarden through Third Grade. Each child received a complimentary copy of "The Mouse Who Went Surfing Alone" to take home, thanks to a generous grant from the Verizon Foundation to Mission Kids.
