*Some of the figures above,
for the most part, reflect only
the Montgomery County portion
of this municipality.

The Borough of Telford occupies 652 acres of land in the north-central portion of Montgomery County and extends across the county line into Bucks County. The Montgomery County portion of Telford was established in 1897, and in 1937, the Governor of Pennsylvania approved the merger of Telford and West Telford. Farming, ice production and cigar making were the basic industries that provided jobs in the early days. Today, this small borough retains much of its older housing stock. Like most other smaller boroughs, little land remains open for development. It should be noted that some residents and businesses may have a Telford mailing address, but will actually be located in Franconia Township. However, this would apply only to the Montgomery County portion.
PUBLIC SERVICES:
The entire borough is serviced by public water and sewer facilities. A full-time police force serves the borough. Fire protection is provided by volunteer companies. Residential trash disposal is provided by three licensed haulers.
RECREATION:
A full-time director is employed by the borough. Facilities include parks with playground equipment, tennis and basketball courts, and other facilities. Little League programs are run jointly with Souderton Borough. For more information, please call 215-723-5000.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
A SEPTA bus route connects the area with many Central Montgomery County locations, Lower Bucks County, and Norristown.
SHOPPING:
A main street shopping area serves the borough. Also, many residents use the facilities in neighboring Souderton Borough. The nearest major shopping mall is the Montgomery Mall.
