D.A.R.E. Program

DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a preventative program. Its aim is to equip our youth with skills to resist peer pressure to experiment with and use harmful drugs. One of the unique features of DARE is the use of Deputy Sheriffs as instructors. The DARE lessons focus on providing accurate information about alcohol and drugs; teaching students decision-making skills; showing students how to resist peer pressure, and providing students with ideas for alternatives to drug use. Over 35,000  children to date have learned to "just say no" to drugs, alcohol and violence.
